Protect the Border How to Handle Bribes

The envelope is a mechanic. It is not free gold, and it is not a personality test.

How to Handle Bribes

The official description names the fork: take the bribe or take the suspect in. Players still search Protect the Border bribe as if the envelope were a code. It is not. There is still no redeem box as of 20 August 2026. Cash and gold come from the shift. This page is the bribe how-to. How to process suspects is the full outcome page. Read that if you also need cuffs, cells, and one-way tickets.

Do not open this page to skip ID checks. An envelope that buys your ignorance is how illegal goods train you. Search the trunk first. Then decide.

When a bribe is on the table

A driver offering money is not automatically guilty of a raid. It is a prompt. Treat it as ready only when at least one of these is true:

  • The face already failed the portrait
  • The cargo already showed illegal goods
  • The driver offers after you have evidence, not before you looked
  • The party agreed, before Play, that small cargo can buy a pass near dusk

If none of those are true, wave the legal car. Cuffing clean traffic burns the minutes you need for night raids.

Take the envelope

Taking the bribe usually means the driver leaves and you skip the cell animation. That can be correct when:

  • The queue will hit sunset in the next cars
  • You already have a clean night of lawful completions
  • Voice agreed this crate is a pass, not a scout

Call bribe once so the trunk officer does not cuff a driver you already sold a walk to. Two outcomes on one body is how the server guesses and the raid starts in an argument.

Taking every envelope is a bad habit. It trains you to skip cargo. Skipped cargo is how a four-officer crew still lets a crate walk. It also leaves a body in the doorway while you count cash, which is cover for the wrong team. Drag leftover suspects before dusk. See checkpoint layout.

Refuse the envelope

Refuse when:

  • You have not opened the trunk
  • Teammates are watching and you have no call
  • The car looks like a scout for the night, not a payday
  • You are farming a locker kit and need repeatable completions, not burst cash

Cuffs and cells are the legal finish. One-way tickets, as the storefront names them, are the harder send. How to earn cash prefers lawful completions because they do not depend on a driver offering a bag. VIP and 2X Cash multiply whatever you chose. They do not tell you which choice was smart.

Team rules so four people do not sell the same car twice

Assign one processor per vehicle. Everyone else holds a post. Useful calls:

  • Bribe yes — money taken, driver released
  • Bribe no — cuffs, walk to the cell
  • Ticket — harder send when the BETA offers it
  • Hostile — guns out, processing is over

Write the outcome on the inspection checklist if you want to reread a wipe later. Party roles already names who owns the window. The processor is that person, not whoever clicked first.

Mobile players cuff slower. Do not make the least comfortable shooter the only processor during a rush. Controls lists the device gap. The map does not change.

Money, gold, and what bribes are not

Bribes are burst cash. They are not gold from a code. They are not a Gamepass. They are not a reason to ignore beginner mistakes such as skipping faces. A party that takes every bag and then wipes at sunset did not “get unlucky.” It spent magazines on arguments and stood in the door counting bills.

If you came from San Diego Border Roleplay, do not import that title’s Rewards box. This BETA has no Home → Rewards code path we can document. Mixing those lists is how phishing ads reuse the word border.

After the envelope

Reset the camera to the lane. Count ammo. Do not celebrate in the cell. The next plate is already work, and the raid does not care that you were funny in voice.

When you can say bribe, cuffs, or ticket in one word and your teammates hear which, you are done here. The next required read is survive the night if the sky is dropping, or Getting Started if you still do not know why the face comes before the bag.

Shift FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers officers ask after every shift.

Should I always take the bribe?

No. Take it only after a search, only with a team call, and never as a way to skip the trunk.

Do bribes give gold?

Treat them as burst cash from the shift. Gold still comes from finished work, not from a code box.

Can two officers process the same driver?

No. One processor per car. A bribe plus cuffs on the same body is chaos.

Is a bribe the same as a promo code?

No. There is still no redeem box as of 20 August 2026. See the Codes Hub.

When should I refuse near sunset?

Refuse if you have not searched, or if the doorway will block the raid angle. Finish or cell, then walk to night posts.

Do VIP and 2X Cash change the bribe rule?

They multiply the payout. They do not make skipped evidence smart.
